Ariki Ono to join University of Tokyo's Professor Kenji Tanaka on stage at the Logistics DX Future Conference 2026 (11 November, Otemachi Place)

On Wednesday 11 November 2026, Ariki Ono, CEO and Logistics AI Architect at Nexgen Japan, will speak at the Logistics DX Future Conference 2026: From Concept to Implementation. Will the Front Line Move?, held at Otemachi Place Hall & Conference in Tokyo. He will appear in conversation with Professor Kenji Tanaka of the University of Tokyo.

The conference is organised by X Mile, which runs the logistics media platform LOGIPOKE, and brings together shippers, logistics providers and hauliers to share practical lessons from the industry. The appearance follows Ono's talk at the Logistics DX Future Conference AFTER ACTION IN TOKYO at Tokyo Big Sight in October.

Session title

The Front Line of Logistics AI (DX): Supply Chain Optimisation Starts with Writing Down the Data

(ROOM3, 11:15–11:55)

Speakers

  • Kenji Tanaka (Professor, Department of Technology Management for Innovation, Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo)
  • Ariki Ono (CEO and Logistics AI Architect, Nexgen Japan)

A preview of the session

"Bringing in AI does not change how logistics works on the ground." The reason, the speakers argue, lies not in AI technology itself but in the fact that operational know-how has never been turned into data.

Tools that optimise vehicle dispatch and inventory placement are already available off the shelf. Yet front-line operations still lean heavily on the intuition and experience of veteran staff, and once a process crosses company or departmental lines, the data that optimisation depends on is rarely in place.

Professor Tanaka, who researches supply chain optimisation, and Ono, CEO of Nexgen Japan, will discuss how AI adoption led by the front line can begin with writing down the judgements that experienced staff carry in their heads, and how that opens a path to optimising the supply chain as a whole.
